Management & Directors

Rubicon's strength is its hands-on management team that has acquired an outstanding portfolio of quality gold projects in North America. David Adamson (President) and Matthew Wunder (VP-Exploration) have a proven discovery track record in the mineral exploration industry while Claude Bouchard (VP-Operations) has gained valuable experience as a mine builder. Bill Cavalluzzo (VP-Investor Relations) has been involved in financings for junior explorers totalling over $150 million. Glenn Kumoi, (VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary) brings over 20 years experience in the practice of law, with 14 years of Canadian and international experience of leading the legal function in public companies. Bob Lewis (CFO) is both a lawyer and CGA and has over 22 years experience with junior explorers and geological consulting firms.

Management has demonstrated its abilities to identify world-class settings by attracting major mining companies such as Goldcorp, Agnico-Eagle and AngloGold as a Joint Venture partners in the Red Lake gold district, and IAMGold, Meridian, Placer Dome and Billiton Plc.

David W. Adamson, B.Sc.(Hons.), M.Sc., Ph.D., President & CEO, & a Director

David W. Adamson, B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., Ph.D., President and CEO, and a Director of Rubicon Minerals, received his B.Sc. (Hons.) at the University of Southampton, U.K. in 1980, an M.Sc. (1984) at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan and Ph.D. (1988) at the University of Aston in Birmingham, U.K. David has been associated with the mineral exploration industry for over 22 years with experience with both major and junior companies in gold and base metal exploration in North America, Europe and Africa. As CEO of Rubicon, he was instrumental in the identification and acquisition of a world-class cobalt/copper deposit in Africa and seeing it through to completion of a feasibility study prior to it being spun out. As well, he was the driving force behind the Company's Red lake acquisitions including the flagship Phoenix Gold Project, leading to recent discovery of F2 Zone at Phoenix. David has extensive experience in marketing and capital raisings, particularly in North American and European capital markets and has been active in raising over $200 million for Rubicon and is a member of the board of two other junior exploration companies.

Claude Bouchard, P.Eng.,, Vice President-Operations

Claude Bouchard was appointed to the position of Vice President-Operations with Rubicon Minerals in April 2009. He graduated from Laval University with a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering in 1984. Mr. Bouchard has 28 years of mining experience in engineering, development, operations and mine management. Most recently, Mr. Bouchard was employed by FNX Mining Company Inc. in Sudbury where he held senior positions including Manager of Engineering, General Manager of Project Development and Manager of the Levack Mine and Footwall Deposit. Prior to joining FNX, he worked for Falconbridge Ltd. at the Raglan Mine in northern Quebec and the Sudbury operations as Mine Superintendent at the Thayer-Lindsley and Craig Mines.

Matthew C. Wunder, P.Geo., Vice President-Exploration

Matthew C. Wunder was appointed to the position of Vice President-Exploration with Rubicon in June 2007. Mr. Wunder is a professional geologist (P.Geo.) with over 20 years of experience with both major and junior mining companies managing key projects and developing new opportunities throughout Canada, U.S.A., Mexico and Latin America. Matthew's areas of expertise include resource evaluations and project due diligence, resource modeling, project management, planning and implementations. Most recently, Matthew was a senior consultant within the ore evaluations group of a major consulting firm. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Western Ontario in 1985.

Bill Cavalluzzo, B.A., Vice President-Investor Relations

Bill Cavalluzzo, B.A., Vice President-Investor Relations received his Bachelor of Arts degree (Geography) from Pennsylvania State University in 1969. He has over 40 years of experience in mineral land management, media relations and investor relations with both major mining companies and junior exploration companies in gold and base metals in North America and Africa. Bill has also gained extensive experience in marketing and capital raisings, particularly in North American and European capital markets and has been active in raising over $150 million for Rubicon and other companies. Most recently, Bill was the Manager-Investor Relations with Pangea Goldfields Limited which was acquired by Barrick Gold Corporation in June, 2000.

Glenn Kumoi, LL.B., Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Mr. Kumoi was appointed to the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in December 2009. Mr. Kumoi obtained his BA from the University of Toronto in 1984 and his LL.B., graduating Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa in 1987. Mr. Kumoi has 20 years of experience in the practice of law, with 12 years of Canadian and international experience leading the legal function at public companies. Mr. Kumoi has been called to the bars of Ontario and British Columbia and is licensed to practice in both jurisdictions. Most recently he was Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and VP Human Resources, at Ballard Power Systems leading the legal and human resources teams on a number of transformative transactions.

Robert G. Lewis, J.D., C.G.A., CFO

Robert (Bob) Lewis received his J.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1977 and earned a Certified General Accounting (CGA) designation in 1984. Bob has over 22 years of accounting experience as a Controller for mineral exploration companies and geological consultants, as well as several years with a hi-tech manufacturing company. He has held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Rubicon since September 2005.

Chris Bradbrook, B.Sc. M.Sc., Director

Chris Bradbrook, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to Rubicon, as a result of his more than 25-year career in the mining industry. Chris has performed principal roles in many aspects of the industry, including exploration, mine development, corporate development work, financial analysis, investor relations and marketing. Most recently, he was President and CEO of New Gold Inc. and prior to that, he was Vice President of Corporate Development for Goldcorp Inc. His diverse career has provided Chris with a unique and valuable perspective and understanding of the relationships between investors, mining companies and the creation of shareholder value.

Julian Kemp, B.B.A., CA, Director

Julian Kemp, CA was appointed to the board in June 2010. Mr. Kemp has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, mostly serving in senior financial and administrative management roles. His experience has been focused on restructuring and transforming exploration and development companies into producers. Julian has guided various junior mining companies with precious metals, base metals and coal operations in North American and internationally as well as mining engineering and contracting companies. He is currently Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Fortune Minerals Limited, a position he has held from 2004 to present. Julian has also served as a Director for a number of public companies and is currently a Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Claim Post Resources Inc. (TSX-V:CPS) and was formerly a Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Goldgroup Mining Inc. (formerly Sierra Minerals Inc.) (TSX:GGA). Mr. Kemp is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfred Laurier University.

David R. Reid, B.A., LL.B., Director

David R. Reid, B.A., LL.B., a Director of Rubicon Minerals, acts as counsel to major and junior mining companies, non-resource based companies as well as public companies listed on the stock exchanges in Canada and the U.S. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a law degree from the University of Victoria and is a member of the British Columbia and Ontario Bars. Formerly a partner of major law firms in Vancouver and Toronto prior to founding internationally recognized mining and securities law boutique, Reid & Company, in May 1995, David joined the national law firm, Davis & Company LLP as a senior partner following the acquisition by Davis of the law practice of Reid & Company in March 2002. His extensive corporate and commercial business experience and mineral resource law expertise are an asset to the Rubicon Minerals board. David has acted as counsel to Rubicon Minerals since its inception.

Bruce A. Thomas, Q.C., Director

Bruce A. Thomas was appointed to the Rubicon board in July 2009. Bruce A. Thomas, Q.C. is a founding partner in Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP and was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1978. Mr. Thomas is an experienced Canadian lawyer with an active trial and appellate litigation practice who has consistently been acknowledged among the best lawyers in Canada. He is ranked as a leading practitioner in commercial insurance litigation in Canada by The Canadian Legal Expert Directory. In recent years, Bruce Thomas has been primarily engaged in corporate and commercial litigation matters. Mr. Thomas is a graduate of Upper Canada College, the University of Western Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School.

Michael D. Winship, P. Eng.

Michael Winship, P.Eng. was appointed to the Board in September 2011. Mr. Winship has over 30 years experience in mine development, operations, and corporate business. During his career Michael has been involved in the operation or development of over 20 mines in diverse working jurisdictions including Australia, Papua New Guinea, the United States, Indonesia as well as northern Canada and the Sudbury Basin. Michael is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. Prior to which he was the President and Chief Operating Officer with Hudbay Minerals Inc. Between 2000 and 2007 Michael worked at Vale Inco where, in his last position as Vice President, Mining & Milling, he was responsible for seven nickel/copper/PGM mines and central processing milling operations in Sudbury. Prior to Vale Inco, Michael was the General Manager for several major Placer Dome operations including the Campbell Mine in Red Lake Ontario. Michael holds a bachelor's degree in mining engineering from McGill University.
